Fur

When this quarter started, Lliam was supposed to look much more realistic, and be covered in fur, but as I knew what a big hassle grooming and making hair work was, I redefined my character and gave him his canvas skin, and minimized the use of fur to his small patch of hair on his head, at the tip of his ears and his eyebrows. I had a lot of fun just messing around with the controllers and getting the fur to look like I wanted them to, without having to groom the fur or draw maps for it. The challenge was to make it look real, for a plushie.
I used skull caps, basically copied geometry from the main model, to attach the fur to. This way I had more control over each patch separately.
